In 2018, the Health Law Section created a new Mentorship Program based on the exemplary program that Schwartz Rollins partner Jay Rollins developed for the Georgia Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Law Section. The mentorship program of the Health Law Section was created to promote collegiality and professionalism, and to welcome new healthcare attorneys to the Section and assist them in developing professional networks.

Mr. Rollins inspired the leaders of the Health Law Section with his vision for an inclusive program that champions the importance of connecting generations of attorneys in the same practice area to advance their professional development and promote camaraderie. At the Health Law Mentorship Program’s year-end celebration dinner on May 23, 2019, Jay was honored with the 2019 Inspiration Award. The Inspiration Award exemplifies how Mr. Rollins motivated the Program’s Advisory Board to create and launch the new mentorship program and then regularly shared his time and insights about various aspects of building a successful program. According to the Advisory Board, “Our program would not have been a success without inspiration from Mr. Rollins, and we are grateful for his support and leadership.”
